The high-end Hermès store in Paris, which is located on the site of the former Lutetia swimming pool, was looking for a more elegant and warm renovation. The plan was to include a 13,000-square-meter retail space, as well as a café and a bookstore.
Axiolis was hired to do a structural diagnostic to confirm the load-bearing capacities of the floors and the possibility of opening load-bearing walls. We conducted 38 invasive tests, as well as ground-penetrating radar scans, to identify the full scope of the steel reinforcement and material composition: this included flooring recognition, metal framework analysis, floor load verification against project requirements, and a diagnostic report with recommendations for strengthening.
